Add oil and pancetta to a deep pot and heat over medium-high heat.
Add the "trinity," onions, celery, and carrots, all finely diced, and brown for a few minutes. -
Cook for a few minutes longer with the garlic, salt, and pepper before adding the beans and liquid.
Season once more! -
Now add the tomato, water, and increase the heat to high; cook for 25 minutes before adding the pasta, which is commonly ditalini. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook as directed on the packet!
